The Smyrna Lions Club was chartered in May 1946 by the Wilmington Lions Club. We are proud to have remained an active part of our community with a grand service reputation for 60plus years!
We're proud to be long term sponsors of a boys Little League baseball team and a girls ASA Little Lass League softball team.
Each year we give a $1,000 scholarship to a Smyrna High School graduating senior, and a $250 savings bond to the senior with the highest 4 year English grade average.
We also host Smyrna's Christmas Eve Ride by Santa, where the jolly old guy rides throughout the town in his sleigh wishing all the children a Merry Christmas and urging them to go to bed early. This is a 55+ year tradition for the club and is something the kid in all of us looks forward to each year.
On the state level, we support the Delaware Lions Foundation and help fund an annual Christmas party for the visually impared. On a higher level, we support the Lions Leader Dog Program and the Lions Eye Bank of the Delaware Valley.
All of our club past presidents are Ralph Helm Fellows, a place of distinction among Delaware Lions.
